Fang. Science doesn’t tell us the meaning of things, just how they happen. Meaning is something that humans need to decide for themselves – we can’t find it from outside.
Good question – this is something that philosophers spend a lot of time grappling with. As Drew said it is not a question that can be answered by science. Science tells us the “how” of things and not the “why”. I personally believe that we do have a purpose and that is to glorify and enjoy God. But that is a conclusion I can’t come from just from science! What do you think? 🙂
The meaning of life… we’re all looking for that one… Think its quite a personal question, and I’m sure we all have different opinions. wether ot be religion science or something else all together…
However in my opinion.. Humans are another speices.. and the point of my life is to have fun and enjoy it! hehe
Hello fang17 and arsemakifla1233! This is not something we can ever know the answer to. However, I do think it is certainly really fascinating to think about and it is interesting that science, philosophy, and religion provide very different perspectives on the answer.
For me the most fascinating reason I’ve heard has to do with the fact that we are conscious and self-aware. By virtue of the fact that we can think about the universe, we are a very special part of the cosmos. We are part of the universe we live in. What is the answer to why humans then? Or more specifically why conscious observers?
We are the way the universe thinks about itself!!!!!!!!
That is one of the most beautiful things I think I have ever heard!
