We are mostly made up of water and we need to replace the water that we use on a daily basis. We loose water in such ways as sweating or urinating.

Hi Thomasluke. Interesting question. Water is important because of its chemical properties. It is one of the simplest molecules, but there are a lot of chemical reactions important for life that need water. A good example is that putting complex molecules together usually needs the components to be in aqueous solution (ie, disolved in water).

Yep we are mostly water so we need a lot of it in us. We are constantly losing it…by peeing, sweating, spitting on folk, crying, dribbling…so we need to get it back in! Its essential for us to function!! 🙂
