      Hi Stary!

The first man-made plastic was created by Alexander Parkes who publicly demonstrated it at the 1862 Great International Exhibition in London. The material called Parkesine was an organic material derived from cellulose that once heated could be molded, and retained its shape when cooled. So it originally came from plants but he made plastic out of it!! 🙂

Hi Stary. It’s an amazing co-incidence, but there are dozens of web-sites that use exactly the same words as Amy. I don’t know the answer to your question, but you should always be careful when lots of places are copying words from each other, because you don’t know the true source of the information.
