Hi Bsykes. The worst injury was in high school. I was doing titration and I sucked a mouthful of hydrochloric acid using a pipette. I wasn’t sick, but that stuff tastes awful!

I once spilt toxic chemicals on my crotch and had to strip in the lab (no-one else was there). It even soaked my pants so I had to go home in a lab coat and someone’s swim shorts. Not my finest hour!!

      Hey..
On wednesday I got a glass pipette stuck in my finger!
I mostly get cuts from broken glass.

Think that’s the worst for now and hopefully always! It bled alot and now i’ve got a nice scab 🙂

      Hey bsykes!

Thankfully I seem to get off mainly injury-free (to myself at least…I have a name for breaking VERY expensive equipment on a semi-regular basis..in fact I almost see it as a part time job). I think my worst ones are probably stabbing myself in the fingers with needles or dripping chemicals on myself that make me itch. I do use radioactivity on a weekly basis though so I could be giving myself damage that I can’t even see…and thats a scary thought.

Hello bsykes and kclark!! Thankfully I’ve never had an incidence of injury due to an experiment (yay!). But I am fairly accident prone. I’m really a bit of a clutz. This is one of the many reasons I am better off doing theoretical than experimental science for my career 😉
