What would you like to die of today? On the sun side of Mercury, you’re going to be blasted with radiation, fried to a crisp and boiled long before you notice that you can’t breath. On the other side, not so bad. You might suffocate before you freeze.
Neptune, by comparison, is much nicer. You’ll be crushed to death long before you even make it tho the solid surface, which is hotter than the solar side of Mercury.
Hello caitlin! Hmmm, tough call. Drew’s got some pretty good descriptions of the “how” here.
My most naive guess would be Mercury, if it was daytime. You’d roast up really quickly just as Drew described. You’d probably die of some combination of heat/cold shock and suffocation on both. However if we are comparing Mercury’s night to Neptune I would say Neptune would win – its colder and there is no where to stand!!
