• Question: Is gravity a big part in the our lives?

      Hi Holliewalls. If we didn’t have gravity, the solar system would never have formed. We would just be clouds of dust in space.

      If gravity stopped now, the earth would fly away from the sun, and might fall apart. The air would very quickly fly off into space, as would anything not glued to the cold crumbling wreck that used to be earth!

      Hello holliewalls! First off I love gravity!!! I think it is amazing! And, yes it is a HUGE part of our lives, and we wouldn’t be here without it. Actually nothing in the universe would be here without it!! It would be a super boring place.

      The stars and galaxies formed in the universe early on thanks to gravity. Gravity allows stars to burn, and to die. When they die they make heavier elements! So even the elements, like carbon, oxygen, are a product of gravity!

      More locally, the Earth and Sun were formed by gravitational processes. AND, the only thing keeping me in my chair here right now as I type is gravity! Actually gravity keeps our oceans and atmosphere bound to Earth as well.

      So, basically without gravity not only would we not exist, but nothing we know would! See why I think it is so special?? <3's to gravity!
