Hey! I haven’t actually seen “The Hangover” but I am sitting in an office with people who have and they say that yeah it is possible that they could die from alcohol poisoning and drug abuse – I mean its not very sensible to drink lots and take drugs (I think we’ve covered this in some other questions!) …but not everyone who drinks loads and takes drugs dies so its not a given that they would…if it was real. Maybe the lion would kill them?
Hi nomnomnom,
I haven’t seen the film, but I thought I should mention that the movie trope of people drinking a lot and then waking up with no memory of what they did while drunk is only partially true. Blackouts don’t happen to everyone, and they don’t happen all the time. Much more common are fuzzy or partial memories where certain details are missing.
The odds of three people all losing the same memories just from alcoholic or drug blackout are pretty low – there are some drugs that stop you recording long term memories, but generally they have other pretty drastic physical effects as well that would stop you doing lots of outrageous things.
Seen the film… don’t think it’s as good as the first…I think they would have a hangover for much longer…and have even worse ill effects on their health..As well as memory loss, vomiting, headache, shivvers, schizophrenia, and well basically feeling like death … not sure about dieing ..
I guess because its hollywood and they glam it all up!
Hi nomnomnom. My guess, yes. I don’t think they are consuming realistic amounts of anything in that movie. True to hollywood form, it is way over the top. But super entertaining!
