• Question: If a turtle loses his shell, is he naked or homeless?

      I am going to go with dead although he would be more naked than homeless.

      A turtle’s shell is made out of keratin which is the same stuff that your fingernails and hair is made of. Its ribs and backbone are also part of the shell so if the shell came off they would loose part of their skeleton and die.

      Most turtles live in the sea, so I would say that the sea is their home and the shell is part of them.
