      Hi Mcglynn,

I left school when I was 18 and went straight to university where I did Molecular and Cellular Biology. So I guess you could say that I have been a scientist since I was 18…although I am still a student scientist because I am doing a PhD.

Was I very clever in school? hmmm…well it depends what you call clever. There were definitely more clever people than me but I did seem to do quite well in exams and got mainly As and Bs.

Are you interested in becoming a scientist? I think enthusiasm and interest is more important than being “clever” – but working hard at school work is really important too because otherwise you don’t get into uni!! 🙂
