Hi jaeeeeelad and fuunkeemonkey!! Yes! I have seen a rocket launch, and it was amazing!!!!! I lived in Florida near Kennedy Space Center when I was an undergraduate and it was fantastic because even from campus we could see the rocket launches! Once I was at Kennedy Space Center and actually saw a launch up close. Quite an experience to see something taking off for space!
Oh! I forgot to mention. Many of us never get to go out and see a rocket launch (I am soooo lucky to have seen one in person), but we can see satellites and even the International Space Station (ISS) on a dark night. Look up at the sky on a dark night and occasionally you may see dots of light that look like starts tracing out straight paths along the night sky. Those are our own satellites!! The ISS is up there too, and is amazing to see – it looks like just a dot of light, but there are people living on it!!
