My mum tells me that when I was 2 or 3 I used to go down to the back yard and watch insects. And I asked lots of questions about how things worked. When you’re little you expect grown ups to have the answers. Then in school you start to realise that they only have some of the answers, and there are some questions that no one has the answers to yet. I started to get interested in science when I was in primary school and I had questions people couldn’t answer for me.

Hi katierfletch and hannahmvnich! That is really a great question – especially since I don’t have an exact answer! I got interested in science when I was around 17. We have these universities in the States called community colleges which are two-year universities you can attend if you are not sure what you want to do at college. I started at one of these colleges, and had a really really amazing physics teacher. Until that point, I had always been a little interested in science, but had many other interests as well. When I took this physics class I learned all about how we can try to figure out how nature works. And, I was hooked thanks to the enthusiasm of my first physics teacher!! It is amazing the things science can try to answer and it is so exciting to be a part of it =)

I guess I have always sort of been interested in science as I asked lots of questions when I was younger. However, I got really interested in Chemistry when I was about 13 as I had a really nice teacher and I preferred doing experiments to writing essays. I kept on doing science and I really enjoy it.

Hey guys!! I guess I was interested in the world around me from when I was tiny but I didn’t know it was science! I properly got to like Science when I was 14-15 …I think! 🙂
