Hey Ingrid… very serious question… I’m asked myself this alot.. and had many heated debates with my freinds.
My personal philosophy of life is, that I believe there is nothing after death, you have one life, and thereofre should make to most of it, live life to the full is my moto 🙂

I still haven’t decided. I like to believe that there is more to life than just what happens when we are alive. I find it comforting to think that we might be able to meet all our loved ones again after death. I haven’t made up my mind on the issue yet though.

I was a Christian until a few years ago, and believed in life after death. I was unable to reconcile my beliefs with my “show me the evidence” approach to my professional life, and was forced to conclude that there is no evidence or logical conclusion leading to life after death. That doesn’t mean that life after death doesn’t exist, it jsut means that it isn’t something that can be safely concluded from what we know.
I believe strongly in personal legacy. Even if you can’t measure it, individuals can contribute to the future well-being of civilisation and so live as long as civilisation.

Brilliant question – this is not a question that can be answered directly by science – as you cannot prove or disprove the existence of it. However, personally, I do believe in the existence of life after death. I believe that there is heaven and there is hell and that when we die we go to one of those places. What do you think?

Hi Ingrid, Good for you! This is a very deep question. In fact, I am not sure how to answer, or even start to answer, it’s that deep!
I guess to keep it short I would say I don’t know. It might depend on what you mean by “life” after death. Death is the end of life so that is to me somewhat of a poorly defined concept (scientist in me speaking! can you tell?). I like Drew’s take on living on through our impact on the world. Also, we are all part of the universe, the atoms that make me up will most certainly go on many interesting adventures after I am no longer me. But, as far as whether I think that “I”, the conscious me that I am right now, will still exist after my body is dead. I have no idea. I guess part of me certainly hopes so!! It would be amazing if part of us, some essence were immortal. But in some sense we are – we are a part of a beautiful cosmos that does many wonderful things, including inventing us to think about itself!! So in the short – I don’t know, but in I am open to all the possibilities!
What is the meaning of life?
Do you believe that there could be a God(s)? If so do you think that unexplainable occurances are caused by God(s)?
What are indicators of life on a planet?
What is one thing that you are determined to find out about/discover before you die? Why?
if the theory of entropy is correct then surely life is imposible. does this mean that all life on eath formed by
